Privacy Policy

Your privacy in Gap Runner

Gap Runner has no accounts and asks for nothing about you. Here is exactly what the game handles, why, and for how long.

Last updated: November 5, 2026. This policy covers the Gap Runner: Space Arcade app for iPhone and iPad.

In short

  • There's no sign-up, and we never ask for your email, phone number, contacts or location.
  • Your progress (stars, unlocks, settings) stays on your phone.
  • The leaderboard stores a random ID, the player name and avatar you choose, and your best score in each mode. Other players can see your name, avatar and scores.
  • Ads are served by Google AdMob. Gap Runner doesn't ask to track you across other apps and websites.
  • We don't sell your information, and we don't use analytics or crash-reporting tools.

1. On your phone

Gap Runner saves your game on your phone only: your best scores, lifetime stars, games played, achievements, unlocked and chosen items, and settings such as sound and haptics. Deleting the app removes all of this.

2. The leaderboard

The leaderboard uses Google Firebase:

  • Firebase Authentication signs the game in anonymously. This gives your copy of the app a random ID. It isn't linked to your name, email or Apple Account.
  • Cloud Firestore stores one entry per mode (Easy, Medium and Hard) for that ID, holding your best score, the player name and avatar you chose, and when it was last updated.

The leaderboard is public inside the game: other players can see the top 50 names, avatars and scores in each mode. Choose a player name you're happy for others to see, and avoid using your real full name.

How long it's kept: your leaderboard entries stay until you ask us to remove them. Email us with your player name and we'll delete them.

3. Advertising

Gap Runner is free and shows ads from Google AdMob: banners on the menu, pause and game over cards, and video ads you choose to watch to continue a run or unlock an item. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may receive information such as your device type, iOS version, app version, IP address (from which an approximate location can be worked out) and how you interact with ads.

Gap Runner doesn't ask for permission to track you, so your phone's advertising identifier is not shared with Google. You can learn more in how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

4. When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply, and keep it only as long as needed to help you.

5. Who we share data with

Only with the services that make the game work: Google Firebase (the leaderboard) and Google AdMob (ads). They process data under their own terms, which you can read in the Firebase privacy information and the Google Privacy Policy. Their servers may be in a different country from yours.

We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Pick any player name you like, or keep the one the game makes up for you.
  • Delete the app to remove everything stored on your phone.
  • Email us to ask what we hold about you, or to have your leaderboard entries deleted. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, for example under the GDPR or the CCPA, and we'll honour them.

7. Children

Gap Runner is a general-audience game. It has no accounts and doesn't ask for personal information. If you believe a child has put personal information in a player name, or sent it to us, email us and we'll delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change how Gap Runner handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
